Goodnight.
Three months at sea so far is about to pass on June 2. Hard to believe my contract is half over. I’ve finally logged the miles under my proverbial keel to get my first tattoo, a swallow on my right side of my chest. At 10000 miles, i’ll have one over my heart. Sailing from the virgin islands back home has been a truly life shaping event, bringing some ties closer than ever, and burning some bridges completely to the ground. I’ve learned so much. Laughed, loved, bled, cursed all because of the life this ship has given me. Where will the next 3 months take me? Waters far more familiar than christiansted and Cruz bay, but hopefully somewhere just as memorable. It’s good to be coming home, but I miss the travels already.

If you want to see the strength of America’s beer industry, you may want to look past beverage giants like Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors. According to the Brewers Association, nearly 2,000 American brewers operated during 2011 — the most since the 1880s.
